  1. 1Rinse the fermented bamboo shoot well and chop it finely.
  2. 2Rub chicken with turmeric and salt and keep aside.
  3. 3Heat mustard oil and fry sliced onions until golden.
  4. 4Add ginger-garlic paste and green chillies, cooking briefly.
  5. 5Add the chicken with turmeric and chilli powder, searing well.
  6. 6Stir in the bamboo shoot and let it fry for a few minutes.
  7. 7Pour in water, cover and simmer until the chicken is tender.
