Method

  1. 1Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a deep pan over medium heat.
  2. 2Add 1 finely chopped onion and sauté until golden brown.
  3. 3Add 1 teaspoon of ginger paste and 1 teaspoon of garlic paste, and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. 4Add 1 chopped green chili and 1 finely sliced tomato. Cook until the tomatoes soften and the oil begins to separate.
  5. 5Add 1 teaspoon of cumin powder, 1 teaspoon of coriander powder, 1/2 teaspoon of turmeric powder, and 1 teaspoon of red chili powder. Mix well and cook for 30 seconds.
  6. 6Add 150 g of paneer, cut into 2 cm cubes, and gently fold in to coat with the spice mix.
  7. 7Add 1/4 cup of water and let the mixture simmer for 3 minutes to allow flavors to blend.
  8. 8Garnish with 2 tablespoons of fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with roti or steamed rice.
